Airport Issue #6

November 25, 2011

One last time. One last flight and I am disposing one suitcase. I just can’t take all this stress. But one more time and then I’m home free. I was able to (almost) smoothly make it on the last two plane flights. But that was because I had Ben’s carry-on. Now I don’t have the extra room for my heavier items. So I still have the original problem, two check-in bags and one carry on. So I packed my bags carefully and hoped for the best. When arriving to the airport, my tour guide in Shanghai told me that he would try his best to get me and my luggage to Taiwan. He assured me that it might be okay because this airport was bigger and more popular. Thus, they may not charge me money for the extra bag. So we tried it out. I approached the counter and weighed my bag. Again, the employee tried to charge me. My tour guide talked to her for a little bit and miraculously talked her out of charging me. I made it! So I thanked both my tour guide and airline employee and I gleefully walked towards security line.

Oh yea! I brought all this to four different countries. Impressive or stupid?

I am now heading to Taiwan where I will meet my grandmother and cousin. They are so kindly going to keep one of my wretched bags for me until I come back. This will be great for any other plane flights I decide to take. And more importantly, this will be good for my back. I will stay in Taiwan just for one night and then I will be back at the airport early the next morning. Then I’m off to Thailand. I can’t believe it. I’m finally going to Thailand…
